Winter can be quite unpredictable, and you may have to own several different jackets to accommodate for all types of weather. The WindWall Triclimate Jacket from TNF, however, eliminates the need for an expensive jacket collection. One, or two jackets, depending on how you look at Triclimates, is/are all you need to survive and thrive in the snowy season.
The WindWall Triclimate Jacket is a two-piece jacket system: a waterproof shell that covers the wind-resistant, highly breathable fleece. They can be zipped together, or worn separately.
HyVent Exterior Shell The exterior shell is made of HyVent fabric, which is designed to keep water out while allowing perspiration to ventilate out of the jacket. This abrasion-resistant shell also has the following items:
Fully adjustable and removable hood
Napoleon chest pocke, 2 hand pockets, and 1 internal cargo pocket
Velcro flap closure for the zipper
Underarm zip vents for additional ventilation
Elastic Velcro cuffs
WindWall 1 Fleece Jacket The second jacket in the WindWall Triclimate is the zipped-in WindWall 1 Fleece Jacket. The WindWall 1 Jacket, which we have reviewed previously, is a thin, light-weight jacket designed for wind-resistance and maximum comfort. In the Triclimate, it translates into a comfortable, insulating layer that can be worn on its own when the conditions are cool and dry.
Let's revisit the WindWall 1 Jacket construction:
WindWall 1 fabric for wind protection
2 hand pockets
Hem cinch-cord
Athletic fit
Zip-in compatibility with Triclimate HyVent Shell
Temperature Range and Lifestyles
This dual layer jacket will allow you to go up against all kinds of temperature and weather. The shell is excellent for wet, rainy conditions, and combined with the WindWall 1 Fleece, sub-zero weather is not a problem. As the temperature gets warmer, wear the WindWall 1 Fleece Jacket by itself for warmth, comfort, and mobility.
Summary on the WindWall Triclimate
A TNF Triclimate Jacket, in our opinion, is an excellent investment for the money. If you want a jacket that will get you through fall, winter, and spring, the WindWall Triclimate will do the job. Wear the fleece for mild and dry weather, the shell for wet and moderately cold conditions, and both when it gets nasty outside. Two jackets in one, this Triclimate is as versatile as it gets.
